The Herring Foundation of Hope

Everyone is sure to be directly touched by cancer in their lifetime, whether it be a relative, friend, or themselves. The news of a cancer diagnosis is devastating to the patients and their family members. The shock is followed by the terrible confusion about what steps to take for treatment.

Unfortunately, patients cannot rely solely on the advice of the medical community in order to get well. The ultimate responsibility and burden to make educated decisions rests solely with the patient and their family/friends.

To that end, The Herring Foundation of Hope offers a "Hope Kit" to recently diagnosed cancer patients. This kit has up to date information on cancer treatment options, including conventional as well as complementary and alternative treatments. Also included are information sources for more details, resource kits for family members, and action steps to be taken immediately to assist in the healing process.

The Herring Foundation of Hope is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization. Administration and overhead costs are kept to a bare minimum. Over 94% of gifts/grants to the foundation go directly toward benefiting cancer victims.

The Herring Foundation of Hope raises its funds through corporate and individual donations, and through our annual fundraising events. In the past, we have held events such as The Little Moments in Time Golf Tournament, The 5K/1 Mile Fun Run, and The Herring Foundation of Hope Charity Ball and Silent Auction.
